0:00 — Introduction
Before you enroll, take a look inside. CortovaVolt Texas brings four hours of electrician continuing education into clear explanations, practical examples, and activities built around the work you do. A few electricians who previewed the course told us they were impressed. Now you can see it for yourself. This is a preview only. It does not earn continuing education credit. Let's start with an actual lesson.
0:26 — Actual course excerpt: Why the NEC Changes Every Three Years
The National Electrical Code gets a brand new edition every three years. Like clockwork. And I know what that sounds like from the field. It sounds like a bunch of people in a room somewhere inventing new ways to slow you down and cost your customer money. New edition, new rules, new reasons to fail an inspection on something that was fine last year. But that's not what's actually happening. Stay with me on this, because once you see it, the whole code reads differently. The code changes because the trade keeps changing. Think about what's landed on your jobs in just the last few years. Solar on roofs. Battery storage in garages.
1:06 — Actual activities in an isolated demonstration
That's the voice and the explanation you'll hear inside the course. The learning doesn't stop at watching. Match the four pillars to what they cover. Drag a choice into place, check your matches, and read the explanation. On the job scenarios let you think through a situation before revealing the answer. Memory hooks give the idea a picture you can carry back to work. And quick checks help you stay engaged. There is no final test. There are real questions and real activities. This demonstration is isolated from student accounts. It creates no course credit. Here's another actual lesson, on how a GFCI watches a circuit.
1:47 — Actual course excerpt: GFCI — Catching the Shock Before It Catches You
So. GFCI. Ground fault circuit interrupter. Long name, simple job. It catches a shock before the shock catches a person. Let me back up though, because I think the way most people are taught this misses the magic of it. Picture a normal circuit. Hot wire goes out, carries current to the lamp or the drill or whatever you've got plugged in, neutral wire brings the current back. Out and back. Out and back. If everything is healthy, the amount going out matches the amount coming back. Always. Down to the last little bit. That balance is what a GFCI watches. That's the only thing it cares about.
2:26 — Desktop, tablet, and phone preview views
You can see the same course layout in a desktop, tablet, and phone view. Think about a quiet lunch break, time in a parked truck while you wait for the crew, or a comfortable spot at home. When it's time to get back to work, pause the lesson. Study when you can give it your attention. Never while driving or doing electrical work. These are preview views, not a student account. The full course still requires the instruction time and activities. Choose the screen that works for you, keep the explanations close, and make the time count.
